When talking about homes in Southeast Austin, the area primarily consist of homes east of I-35 and south of the river to the Travis County line. With the opening of SH 130 and SH 145 this area is wide open and ready for development. Southeast Austin has seen quite a few homes built in the last decade, especially in pocket areas south and southeast east of I-35 and Pleasant Valley Road and as far east as the Del Valle area. There are plans for more multi-use developments in progress along the HWY. 183 and HWY. 71 corridors which are to consist of medical facilities, shopping centers, offices and other business spaces along with more housing developments. As the growth of Austin expands, the proximity to the airport, downtown and major roadways that allow movement around the city will prove to make Southeast Austin a valuable asset in the future growth.
